The property lies to the west of Ronda, the historic town in the mountains behind Marbella. The slightly southerly sloping terrain comprises 35,000 m2 of fertile land and is fully fenced. In the center of the property lies the “cortijo” (country house) which was built in the typical Andalusian style in the mid-eighties with a total of 828 m2 built. Part of the “cortijo” goes back to the year 1912 and was completelñy renovated in the nineteen eighties and later extended to its present size”. The square building is organized around a large patio (about 180 m2) which on three sides is flanked by a shady colonnade. The “cortijo” is either entered through the central gate leading into the patio after passing the stable hall or directly into the wing which houses the owner’s accommodation. The “cortijo” divides into five different areas: there is the owner’s wing with southwesterly and northerly exposure and including two spacious double bedrooms each of which have direct access to the large central bathroom, a further double bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen with breakfast area, adjoining laundry room and larder and access to one of the many terraces. The very bright and cozy lounge boasts a splendid open fire place, a library and a small studio apartment with separate rest room and open plan kitchen. The northeasterly corner of the building houses a guest apartment with direct access from the outside and including a comfortable double bedroom cum lounge, a kitchenette and shower bathroom. Adjoining is the ample garage for three cars and with three separate electric doors. The care taker’s flat lies in the south-easterly corner of the building and includes three bedrooms, a family bathroom, kitchen and lounge. The central part of the “cortijo” houses the stable hall with five generous boxes and an area for horse feed and riding gear. There is a staircase leading from the owner’s main kitchen area to a cellar with approximately 100 m2 where the oil fired burners and the water supply equipment is stored as well as the wood for the fireplace. There is central heating throughout the whole building.
The estate is accessed via a 300 meter long drive way flanked palm trees passing a large paddock and the riding arena and ending in the car park area in front of the garage. This leads to an immense terrace covering the whole southerly front of the building and connecting with parklike gardens where high mature trees, shrubs flowers are complementing the well maintained lawn. Further to the south and southwest exist several more paddocks. A second garden area lies to the north of the building with an impressive swimming pool (100 m2) in the center of the manicured lawn bordered with colorful flowers and shrubs. Beyond, more large trees separate the pool area from the equestrian installations with a barn (90 m2) for straw and garden machinery, a small chicken pen and the riding arena and paddock.
Almost each point of the estate offers beautiful views into the surrounding country and the mountains of the Sierra de Ronda and the Sierra de Grazalema. The town of Ronda can be reached in a few minutes and it takes about one hour to get to Marbella and its beaches on the Costa del Sol as well as to the international airport of Málaga. The property is connected to mains electricity and the water with drinking quality comes from the two existing wells. The passionate horseman will be delighted to explore on horseback the endless tracks leading the the beautiful Andalusian countryside.
